I) Approval of Agenda: Unanimously approved today’s agenda

II) Approval of Minutes: Will approve 2/3/12 minutes next month

III) Information Items:

A. Program of study changes for BS in Outdoor Education

Brief discussion. No members saw any issues with the proposal.

B. UCC update – Kay Anderson.

UCC has been busy approving courses, especially for Area B. We now have just enough GC2Y courses but need some more.  Brief discussion of GC1Y faculty forums from Friday and Tuesday (2/24 and 2/28). Went very well. Heard some great ideas from those who have taught sections and some great thoughts about assessing GC1Y courses. UCC will follow up with information received during forums.

C. Assessment discussion

UAT is responsible for assessing programs.  UCC will ultimately (eventually) be responsible for oversight of assessment of the CUBE. However, in the meantime, a plan needs to be written that will propose how the CUBE will be assessed, who will be responsible, etc… A small working group has been put together and they are working on designing that plan.  It will come to CAPC as a recommendation when it is completed.
