Call to Order 11:00 

 

  1. Approval of Agenda-Approved
  2. Approval of Minutes-Approved
  3. President’s Report: President Leland provided a report from the Georgia House of Representatives. The house has passed its recommendation for the budget. Next the Georgia Senate will examine the budget.
  4. Provost’s Report: Provost Jordan announced she will be attending the RPIPC meeting to discuss faculty and staff email selection and the progress made on the strategic planning of the university mission.

Unfinished Business

  1. Governance Calendar: Tanya Goette announced the governance calendar is completed.
  2. Committee Preference Survey: Christine Zuger reported that 19 senators have responded to the committee preference survey and there are few volunteers.  
  3. At-Large Election: Dean Baker reported Will Hobbs, Scott Butler, Cynthia Cano are the nominees for the at-large election. Lee Digiovanni announced she will be unable to fulfill her obligation as the at-large senator for the remaining year of her term. After reviewing and discussing the senate bylaws ECUS members agreed the candidate for the at-large senator election who receives the most votes will be in the three year position. The candidate who receives the second most votes will be placed in the one year position vacated by Lee Digiovanni.  
  4. Senate Agenda: Ken McGill presented the Senate Agenda for approval. The agenda was approved.
Action Items: 

1. Governance Calendar: Tanya Goette to email Web Enabled Resources the governance calendar in order for the calendar to be posted on the senate website.

2. Committee Preference Survey: Christine Zuger to email ECUS members the names of the senators who have responded. ECUS members are to contact the elected senators in their respective departments to remind the elected senators to complete the committee preference survey.

3. At-Large Senator Election: Dean Baker to draft an email response and send to ECUS members to review.

4. Senate Agenda: Ken McGill to post the senate agenda on the senate website.
