Minutes

Gretchen Ionta has been added as an approved instructor to GC2Y 2000 Ten Plants that Changed the World.

Action Item

MGMT3181 International Logistics for the Global Overlay
After a brief discussion, this course was approved with a vote of 14-0-0. This course will be forwarded to CAPC and University Senate as an information item and then to the Provost for final approval.

Discussion Item

Cara Smith shared information on core assessment, the information available on the assessment website, and the assessment data available. Mary Magoulick shared the GC1Y and 2Y rubrics and some of the history of the documents. The rubrics were created before we had even started teaching these courses; after the first year, we realized that faculty were rating students too highly and reworked the document. Cara asked SoCC members who are representing areas to coordinate conversations about the assessment plan with individuals in each of their areas. SoCC agreed to do this during the Fall semester. The committee suggested using one meeting a month to have these discussions, and decided to use October 23 as the first meeting date and to focus on 1Y and 2Y. Cara and Nancy Beasley will take the lead on setting up this meeting and sending some announcements to faculty.

Next Meeting

The committee’s next meeting is October 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in A&S 2-51.

Adjournment

The committee adjourned at 2:04 p.m.
