Call to Order

The Subcommittee on Core Curriculum was called to order by Mary Magoulick at 1:00 p.m. in Arts & Sciences 2-51.

Agenda

The agenda was approved as distributed.

Minutes

The minutes from the October 30 and November 6 meetings were approved with two additions. There was no meeting on November 13.

Action Items

GC2Y 2000 Culture and Civilization of France as an Area B2 Section
The content of this course includes both Rome and the French colonies, ensuring that at least two cultures are compared. Upon a voice vote, the section was approved with a vote of 10-0-0. The submitter also provided the committee with positive feedback about the helpfulness of the review process.

GC2Y 2000 Crimes against Humanity as an Area B2 Section
This course will be offered instead of the Iranian Post-1979 Cinema course. Upon a voice vote, the section was approved with a vote of 10-0-0.

GC2Y Proposal Form. Mary distributed revised drafts of the form, using feedback gathered at previous meetings. The committee approved the new form with a vote of 10-0-0.

GC2Y Review Rubric. Mary distributed a draft of the rubric, which also incorporated feedback gathered at previous meetings. The committee approved the new rubric with a vote of 10-0-0.

Discussion Item

Mary shared her University Senate report with the committee.

Cara will query committee schedules to determine the meeting time for next semester.

Next Meeting

The committee will meet on December 4, 2015, in A&S 2-51. This will be the last meeting of the semester.
