GC2Y 2000 Chaos and Cosmos: The Music of the Spheres as an Area B2 Section

SOCI 4920 Senior Seminar in Sociology for the Writing Overlay
The University Senate approved a proposal to remove the writing/speaking overlay from the core curriculum two weeks ago. As a result, this course, which has been on hold pending a decision of the writing/speaking overlay, will be returned to the department with thanks.
Discussion Items
The committee discussed the forums to gather information on the GC1Y courses. The Provost does not have funds available to provide lunch for the participants in these meetings. John Swinton suggested partnering with CETL to help increase attendance. John will speak with Steve Elliott-Gower about this possibility. We will move the meeting dates to Friday, February 24, at 2:00 and Tuesday, February 28, at 2:00.
The committee also discussed the need to share information about assessment expectations with the GC2Y faculty before we end this semester.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be either February 23, at 8:30 am, or earlier depending on the submissions the committee receives this week.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 a.m.
