CAPC Review Process

During the 2012-2013 academic year, Catherine Whelan and Craig Turner were authorized by the 2012-2013 Executive Committee (at its 28 Sep 2012 meeting) to amend certain motions in the online motion database for consistency with the actions documented in the minutes of the University Senate. This motion (1112.CAPC.002.P) was among those to be amended. The following amendments for this motion are in order.

When motion 1112.CAPC.002.P was considered by the University Senate at its 28 October 2011 meeting, the following motion to amend was made, seconded and approved.

Motion to Amend 1112.CAPC.002.P As curricular review by the University Senate is typically delegated to CAPC, the motion type be modified from policy (type P) to a resolution (type R) and

To approve the curricular review process outlined in the supporting document.

be replaced to read as follows:

1112.CAPC.002.R
To endorse the curricular review processes articulated in the supporting document with the understanding that CAPC is responsible for making future modifications to these processes that promote and maintain efficiency, simplicity, and best practices in institutional curricular review.

The main motion was then approved, as amended, by the University Senate during its 28 Oct 2011 meeting.
