Amendment to Institutional Statutes from the Senate Floor

A motion was made from the senate floor to add the phrase "for or against" to Article I. Purposes and Powers, 1.Section.1.A to read "The University Senate is endowed with all the legislative authority of the University Faculty and shall review and recommend for or against policy subject to the approval of the University President, and shall advise the University administration." The motion was approved.

According to USG legal, the necessary approval process is the president approving the document with a courtesy copy to the chancellor. As Dr. Dorman has already approved the proposed revisions and Chancellor Wrigley was informed of the proposed revisions, the new statutes may be placed in effect.

Thus, the revisions of motion 1718.ECUS.002.O approved by President Steve Dorman are effective March 19, 2018.
